Above there is a concept illustration that merged the two main references for this project: the aesthetic essay “In Praise of Shadows”, and Marcel Breuer’s Wassily Chair.

During the study of “In Praise of Shadows”, I came across an attempt, by the author, to define luxury as being something, cold, even threatening.
This ended up serving as the main premise for the project.
Regarding it’s form, I adapted the “Wassily Chair” - Marcel Breuer, it’s author, did a movie where he follows the evolution of chairs, until the point of his own creation, and then proclaims that in the future there will be no need for this object to exist, assuming that we would simply seat on columns of air. It does not exactly follow his line of thought, but it makes for an amusing visual pun (hopefully).
